Low-EMF AirBnb

Low-EMF Toxin-Free Airbnb

This is an an AirBnB just outside of the Seattle area on the eastside. The space was designed from the get-go to be as healthy as possible for future guests with low-EMF fields for the best sleep, clean air, clean water and clean building materials to minimize off-gassing.

Square footage: About 500 square feet

Description: One bedroom, one bath unit, full kitchen, living room and washer and dryer, one level. Attached to the main house with a shared wall with its own private entrance.

Breathing in Clean Air

Good air quality is critical, because not only do we spend most of our time indoors, but the air quality inside is usually three to five times more polluted than outside.

This is an example of how an interior wall paint can drastically improve the air quality of a space, and in fact, it’s been the healthiest choice available since I’ve been certified and definitely longer than that!

This a healthier choice because it:

  • Is truly non-toxic and made out of all natural materials
  • Turns formaldehyde into a neutral element
  • Is dense and helps regulate the temperature by keeping it cooler during the summer months and warmer during the winter
  • Regulates the humidity level by absorbing moisture in the air
  • Absorbs EMF fields coming from the wiring in the walls and can reduce by 50% or more
  • Doesn’t offgas

And last but not least, it’s absolutely beautiful!

Quality Sleep Every Night

You’d never know it, but there’s a Wi-Fi router just on the other side of one of the walls in the living room area. If this were a typical home, the readings would max out the instrument on its default settings and I’d need to add a special attachment to capture the readings which would be hundreds of thousands higher.

Here, you really can get that feeling of stillness that happens when the power goes out, and that means better sleep and waking up well rested and refreshed.

These are the areas where minor changes made big impacts and made this possible:

  • Shielding from the modem
  • Wiring configuration
  • Interior paint
  • Building materials

One Last Note

Below are some other examples in the same environment of what healthier choices can look like and what the results can be with a few modifications and advance planning.

LOW-EMF WALL FINISH

Another example of a natural, non-toxic wall finish that significantly lowers the EMF fields from the wall even next to an outlet
